At the last minute I devised a plan for the students to submit their one page slides in .jpeg format via file dumper and post the URL through a Google survey. Too many steps for the submission process- some students got lost- and for retrieval- I misplaced some forgot others and it took too long to download and then load into a notebook file.
Better ideas?
Open a Google docs presentation, post the URL on edline and allow viewers to edit w/o logging in? Each student pastes her page into the pres. Opportunity for some students work to be "fooled with"
Emailed submissions? I can never rely on our campus email. Things get lost/missing/ or never appear.
Hmm...
Once I had loaded each slide into a class proposal notebook file it was a breeze. Students went to present when I turned the page and their work was displayed. It was about 2 minutes each and the classmates used the clickers to rate the work. Rating process could have used a more scientific method of scoring such as realistic, interesting, etc.

HI Matt,
ReplyDeleteI read your comment in the blog about why SMART Boards are not a neccessity and wanted to clairfy your last point about SMART Notebook. SMART Notebook comes with a complimentary site license for a school or districit when they purchase a SMART Board IWB. There is no charge for this. The only thing is you are not suppose to use it on a competetive product. Other then this a school can use it on all of thier machines. If you would like to be able to use SMART Notebook files on anothe rproduct feel free to check out SMART Notebook Express at express.smarttech.com If you have any other questions feel free to email me at jasonnast@smarttech.com
Thanks again,
